Deo-Pits, Natural Solid Stick Deodorant Recipe
100% natural ingredients for Pits Sake!
This is a dry-ish feeling deodorant that doesn’t stain clothing. If you want a whiter stick,
use the Kaolin instead of the Bentonite Clay. It works really good and doesn’t feel sticky on the pits.
Ingredients: (makes about 3/2 oz containers or 6 fl. ozs)
1/2 cup Arrowroot powder
1/4 cup melted Shea Butter, Natural
1/4 cup Virgin Coconut Oil
1/4 cup Baking Soda (Sodium Bicarbonate)
9 tsps. Beeswax
4 tsps. Candelilla Wax
1 Tblsp. Kaolin Clay or Bentonite Clay
1 tsps. Rice Starch
drops of essential oil of your choice (we use Cistus, Lavandin, Patchouli,
Tea Tree, Grapefruit) in different blends.
drops of Vitamin E Oil/Tocopherols
3 deodorant containers
Directions:
Melt your measured out beeswax and candelilla over very low heat in a Pyrex measuring cup.
Add the melted shea butter and the coconut oil and vitamin e, mix all well and be sure there are no lumps from the waxes, otherwise heat again. Add the powdered ingredients to a bowl and mix with spoon. Slowly add the powdered ingredients to the melted butter/wax mixture and use a stick blender to smoothen out the mixture. Add your choice of essential oil, incorporate well and pour into deodorant containers. Let harden in frig or overnight.
