Natural Peppermint Lip Balm Recipe

This lip balm recipe is totally refreshing and leaves a slight gloss on your lips…you’ll love it!


Weigh all ingredients (makes 5-6 ozs)

  • 1½ oz beeswax pearls
  • 1 oz cocoa butter
  • 1½ oz mango butter
  • 1 oz. sunflower oil
  • 1/2 oz. almond oil
  • 1/2 oz. jojoba oil
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil (any kind)
  • 1-2 teaspoons peppermint essential oil
  • 5-10 drops rosemary oil extract (ROE)

In a very small pan, add the beeswax and melt over the lowest setting. Once melted add the cocoa butter chunks and mango butter, let melt, and then add the sunflower, almond, jojoba and coconut oil. Heat through, but not over 175°.

Remove from stove and pour into a glass measuring cup for easy pouring into lip balm containers.

Add the flavor oil, or if you would like to make more than one flavor with this recipe, separate into different glass containers and then add the flavor oils to each. Adjust the amount of flavor oil accordingly. Stir flavor oils in and pour into lip balm containers. If the mixture starts to harden before you have finished pouring, place in the microwave for a few seconds to re-melt and then pour.
